FOUNDER & LEAD FLORIST

Blossoming in Texas: A Journey from Seoul to the Soul of Weddings

“In the bustling heart of Seoul, where neon lights blurred with starry skies, I embarked on a journey as a hopeful young dreamer. At twenty, with nothing but a suitcase, I arrived in Texas, a land of opportunity and challenges. As my confidence grew, so did my explorations, leading me through Europe’s colorful markets and Asia’s twinkling night scenes. One enchanting evening in Paris, amidst a market stall bathed in lights and vibrant flowers, I discovered a profound passion for floristry, feeling as if the flowers themselves were speaking directly to my soul.

Returning to Texas, the decision to become a florist felt as natural as a seed finding fertile ground. Introduced by a friend, I apprenticed under a renowned Korean wedding florist, learning not just the craft but how to convey emotions through flowers. Each stem and petal told a story, weaving together the most beautiful tales. My days started before dawn at bustling flower markets, where I picked the freshest flowers, managed large arrangements, and constantly trimmed and watered them. Despite the physical demands, seeing the joy and tears of clients moved by my creations confirmed that I was exactly where I belonged.

Two years later, in 2016, I established the American branch and now I blend the delicate beauty of Asian floral art with the bold textures of Texas style, serving as a bridge between traditions. My flowers are more than just decorations; they are a testament to a journey across continents and cultures, telling stories of love, resilience, and the beauty of coming together. As you plan your special day, please know that every flower I choose and every bouquet I make is infused with my journey, my heart, and my promise to make your celebration an unforgettable memory. Believe that you have become a cherished part of my story, just as I hope to be a part of yours.”

Ji Yun

CREATIVE DESIGNER

"My journey in design began in the bustling classrooms of Korea, studying architecture, and deepened in the U.S. with a focus on sustainable interior design. My path took a creative turn in Japan, where I embraced the art of visual design across web, print, photography, and video. These global experiences culminated in my role with the I am Styling team upon my return to the U.S.

Educated in the precision of architecture, where details are not just seen but felt, and refined by a decade-plus in Japan, attending to the minutest details, I bring a unique perspective to the I am Styling team. Every day, I pour my soul into floral arrangements, striving to make each event not just seen but remembered—infusing every project with the essence of my journey."

Hiroshi Yamamoto

OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

“I have lived a life balancing strength with sensitivity. I’ve spent years teaching judo, practicing martial arts, and enjoying cycling. Yet, my academic pursuits in Fine Arts and Photography in the United States, along with my enjoyment of writing poetry, show a different side of my character. Working with flowers goes beyond mere aesthetics—it often requires more physical labor, lifting and moving, than most would expect.

But it’s this combination of physical and sensory engagement that I find immensely rewarding. Navigating the diverse wedding traditions of Japan and America, I experience a sense of renewal and personal healing with every ceremony I attend. This job isn’t just work for me; it’s a passion that continually rejuvenates my spirit.”
